Question to all of you
hello i was wondering as to what type of picks certain artists use. I was wondering the pick that randy rhoads used (i always read he uses medium, but what type, dunlop or nylon, etc.) i was also wondering what dimebag, malmsteen, or zakk wylde use, it be a great help if anyone knew. also i was wondering if you guys could posty your favorite guitarist and their guitar pick of choice as well as yours.
id hope to hear from you guys soon, thanks in advanced. :)

I use Dunlop nylon .60 and .73 mostly sometimes I'll use a .46 on my acoustic it sounds nice!
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

Kirk hammett - Dunlop green tortex (0.88m)
james hetfield - Dunlop custom nylon
Joe Satriani - Different brands, but they're 1.0 mm i think
Steve Vai - Steve vai signature picks Ibanez 1.0 mm
You have to try alot of picks before finding a perfect one for yourself, good luck.

i only use really thick ones cuz i will totally ruin any when i play thrash or anything if their thinner that 1 mm.
for acoustic, i also use thick ones cuz it sounds better
and for solos, i usually use a medium one cuz you can go faster with them

I've never been too "picky" about what kind I use. Although I can't use thin ones for anything other than acoustic strumming, but even then I still prefer thicker ones. Otherwise I've always used Fender Mediums.

I only use medium picks. The brand doesn't really matter to me, but most of what I have are Fender.

Medium, blue, fender california picks. And sometimes heavy dunlop tortex's.

I've been using thin (red or orange) Dunlop Tortex for years, but I've gradually been introducing myself to a Mojo Pick. It's made from an old, worn-out silver 25-cent piece from the US. It's a bugger to hold on to, because it's so much smaller than what I'm used to, and the absolute stiffness of it feels strange, but the tone I get with it is addictive! I would not have believed the difference if I hadn't experienced it for myself.

I use Fender mediums because thinner picks feel so ****ty and has no tone :)

Dunlop .60 -.72. I like a medium pick to thin as I am heavy handed anyway. I like to use the pick to add a little finese to my playing. If I use one too heavy I seem to stumble all over the neck. In comparison I use 11 gauge strings to help recover any lost tone from the thinner pick.
