i am interested in playing with chords that have open strings that drone. i find the sound to be meditative and want to utilize them as much as possible . i play a few now especially in the keys of e and g.
music is a God-thing.

You could utilize this to a greater effect perhaps by using open tunings.
DADGAD, & CGCGCE for instance.

Drone chords are cool. Its kinda like a bagpipe sound. Strum all strings without X
Here are a few I use.
Aadd9 G6/A Am(add9) Fmaj7b5/A Cmaj7 D6add9/11
E---------I--------I------------I-------------I--------I------------
B---------I--------I------------I------2------I--------I------------
G---6-----I---4----I-----9------I------3------I--------I------------
D---7-----I---5----I-----10-----I-------------I----2---I------4-----
A---------I--------I------------I-------------I----3---I------5-----
E---X-----I---X----I------X-----I------X------I----X---I------X-----

you can also play your e-shaped chord (noteated as 1st fret for e)
at the 4th=G/E, 6th=A/E, 8th=B/E, 9th=C/E, 11th=D/E, 13th=E

Droning has a very Indian vibe to it don't you think?
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

Good question, the Numbers indicate which Fret to stick your finger on.

So example of that wud be....if you saw this..

----0---- <---thin string (High E)
----0----
----1----
----2----
----2----
----0---- <---fat string (Low E)

1st the Fat string, you dont hold any fret's, cause it indicates 0 on that line, meaning its an Open string. The 2nd string (A) you would put your finger on the 2nd Fret, (the 2nd space up the neck inbetween the 2 metal bars or 1 before the 1st dot on the neck) so you hold the A string down inbetween the 2nd Fret. the same for the 3rd string (D) 1st fret for the 4th String (G) open for the 5th and 6th strings (B,E) that makes an Emajor Chord.

Hope that wasnt too elaborate :o

The numbers on the lines tell you which fret to play on that string. We have a tab reading tutorial >here<.
