cables
What's the difference between a 1/4 instrument cable and a 1/4 speaker cable? Just curious...

I think it has to do with gauge of the wire inside the cable....A speaker cable needs a bigger "wire" to send the signal through. A lot more flows through a speaker cable than through the cable you have hooked up between your guitar and amp..
They are basically the same thing, speaker cables just have a bigger guage wire...

Whoa, thanks! Too late to brush up on physics now but I'll check that out for sure. I obviously need to polish up my search skills. :D

I think guitar cable is shielded and speaker wire is more like electrical cable, two separate unshielded strands. Hope that helps.
