Do different makes of tubes in your amp effect it a lot?

I want to replace the tubes in my Peavey 5150. Got it off ebay so they're kinda old plus one of the tubes doesn't work.

What tubes work well with the 5150? I'm aiming for a Arch Enemy kind of sound.

Also how much would this cost??

Thanks

Different tubes will give you a different sound but be sure to have it done by a pro. As I understand it, the bias on your amp will need an adjustment as well. So it's better to have a pro do it, unless you know what your doing. As for cost, I'm not sure. I haven't had to replace any tubes, YET. haha
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

If it's a regular 5150 or 5150 combo then you don't have to do anything bias wise. I'm not sure what tubes to suggest you use though. You might want to contact Doug at www.dougstubes.com for a wide variety of tubes, or Bob at www.eurotubes.com , but with him, you'll only be gettin JJ tubes... which isn't a bad thing at all.

dragon ball Z... ha ha, classic

just put some senzu beans in your amp, sit back and use your kamehameha wave to play the theme song to DBZ
