i get my second paycheck in a few days, and i cant wait to start shopping for a new guitar. my strat is so screwed up, i swear. well, if any of you recall the story i told about gluing the head of my guitar back together, you remember it was completely split in half. its starting to crack back apart again, so like every 10 minutes my b string goes out of tune. definitely lame. i messed it up again becasue i was riding my bike home from work and it was like 10:30. i was going down this little hill about a mile away from my house, and its kindof just a road with a big feild surrounding it and a few houses. well im going down this hill, and i nail a mailbox head on with my bike. at the time when i hit it, i have no idea what i even hit, it was that dark. im actually in the air long enough to go "****, MY GUITAR!" kindof weird, but i bring my guitar to work to rock out to the smooth jazz they drone the customers with in the restaurant during my breaks. so anyways, i completely eat **** on the pavement, and i land right on my guitar, sliding as i go. i slid about 3 or 4 feet just on the ground, and my right arm shows it. i have about half my arm covered with these deep gouges that look like 19 wolverines all stratched me in the same direction. so im on the ground, and i disconnect my gig bag from my shoulder strap so i can get up. i look at my right thumb and the base of it is all cut open, and im so grossed out by that fact that i just try and limp my ass home as slow and pathetic as possible. so anywho, not having a car and working 3 miles away definitely sucks.

damn that was a great story. poor guitar. After all that...do u really think guitar is worth it? It aint for the squeamish. At least u dont drag ur guitar across 2 states and the nations capital on the subway and crowded buses. God forbid it's my acoustic...do u know how soul-less people can be. Damn. For me tho...it IS worth it. I'd drag my guitar across the country just to jam with some dude for an hour. What're u planning on getting this time around? A new Strat?

Ouch, tough break man. You'll have to let us know what you end up getting replacement-wise.

The hard-shell case of my first SBG1000 still has reflective tape on it. I put that on to help drivers spot me as I walked along the highway from the last bus stop to my keyboard player's house for band practice. About a 1-hour trip each way. Ya do what ya gotta do.

ahh, road rash, the scar on my leg tells a story like that... luckily I didn't have my guitar with me... actually, I did this before I was even playing guitar.. but still...

and I would also like to know how on earth you fell off a bike, landed on your guitar, and slid, and the thing only has a crack in the headstock??? that's got to be one tough gig bag!!!

and I'd recommend a hardshall case when you get your new guitar, just attach some shoulder straps to it somehow, and you're good to go, then if that ever happens again, then guitar will probably still be in one piece after the fact (don't know what kind of condition the case woul be in, but who cares, as long as the guitar walks away without a scratch)

i think i probably would have slammed my ribs pretty hard if it werent for my guitar taking the fall. hahaha. yea, well ive always had pretty ghetto equipment, and my guitar is like a punk rock peice of trash, so its almost funny all the stuff that has happened to it, but i love the guitar so ill always try to fix it when it breaks. i mean, its my first gitfiddle, and you have to hang those babies on your wall in all its beaten-up glory. at least thats my plan.

well, im planning on getting an ibanez rg, not really sure what model or anything, i jsut know that i want a kindof shred guitar without looking like im in a band called "blood spills on your coffin" or something like that. metal cliches are the worst. so yea, im getting my next paycheck in a few days so im real stoked about being able to buy one. im also buying a classical guitar for only 50 bucks, handmade, from this music program thing wehre the guy makes guitars for like, almost no profit. definitely cool. heres the link if you wehre interested, they make violins and cellos also. http://themusicproject1.com/

getting spending money rocks, but going to work for 10 hour shifts on saturdays sucks the big one.

I always feel like a part of me died when I hear stories of a guitar being damaged. My condolences all the same.
