soz this is probably a really trivial question thats been asked loads of time bofore, whats a dive bomb?

A dive bomb is just hitting a note on a string, any note, even a harmonic, and pushing down on the whammy bar until it's all the way down. A whammy bar is needed for this technique...Takes a little practice to make the dive sound smooth...

You dont need a whammy bar, you can also use stompbox effects to get the same sound.

But imagine a bomb falling from the sky. Imagine the noise it makes.. soft/high pitch..getting deeper.. deeper.. deeper..

You get the picture.

What stompboxes offer this effect? A whammy pedal is all I can think of....they kill the tone of a tube amp.
