I've been studying/learning standard notation. If I figure a note is say C, how do I figure out which C on the strings? Does this have to do with the Key ?
I'm curious to know this as well... I think middle C on the staff would be the C in the lowest octave, and you would figure it out from there. I'm eager to hear what it really is though...
middle C is 3rd fret of the A string (which is the same as the 8th fret on the low E) and yes the lowest C on a guitar unless you are in drop C tuning. or similar tuning, as long as the Low E string is dropped 4 half steps
in case you were wondering, middle C is the line that comes right in between the bass and treble staff.
