Guitar for MOM
Looking for a nice acoustic for my mom. She is willing to spend around 300 dollars. Any sugestions?

Look up Cort or Carvin. Both companies sell respectable acoustics around that price range.

True, Carvin is a quality brand. I'll throw out the thought that if she's never played before, she might consider a nylon string guitar, just because they're so much easier on those virgin fingers.

Ariana makes some excellent stuff for the money, my $100 sounds like a dream to some of those more expensive, high end models.

She's played before but it's been a few years. I was looking at yamaha, alvarez and I'll check out the carvin guitars too.

I've had nothing but good experience with Yamahas, and my older brother swears by them too.

I do like Yamaha but I have seen a few older models, like 20 plus yrs, that end up having this funky looking haze in the finish. They are sweet guitars though.

what about those yamaha acoustics that you can buy at costco? anyone think those are good? lol, I saw one sitting out at costco, I ran over to play it to find that 3 strings were broken, and the other 3 severly out of tune...
(i'm not really serious, unless it actually, by some miracle, was a good guitar, I doubt I'd ever buy a guitar from costco)
