Weren't we doing a big GT get-together? Where everyone plays a single note? How do you shred a single note?

so he can play extremely fast classical music with one note, but I can't shred some metal with one note?

no, this was totally different, he challenged me by playing some fast classical, and I countered with some shreddin metal.

6strings i guess i won cause i can wear knucle braces and play extremely fast classical music in one note and you can't shred metal on gain at 110%... loser

but seriously a big get together with everybody playing one note and 6strings screwing up his note and me punching him with my knucke braces.. that'll be awesome. we should do this when i run away from home.

I disagree.. if given a floyd equipped guitar, and dialed in the right effects, I think I really could shred one note. using vibrato, bends, trem dips, a flanger, some delay, I really think I could pull it off.

all i need is a guitar. an acoustic would probably be best.

wow this thread has been viewed more times than the beginners guide and over half as much as the rules and regulations.

Forgive me if I'm asking a patently obvious question here - I'm technologically illiterate, see :o - but isn't there some way of producing a collaborated recording over the internet? Is it possible to record music, convert it to an mp3 file, and send it to somebody else to mix? I think doing something like that would be cool - all the blues players on GT could collaborate on an awesome cover of "Little Wing", all the jazz players could do a super version of "Vulcan Worlds", all the rock players could do an insanely shreddy rendition of "Speed Metal Symphony", and me, Earthman, and anybody who cares to join us can make a cacophony of random noises and call it "alternative" :D
"It's all folk music... I ain't never heard no horse sing!"
- Attributed variously to Leadbelly and Louis Armstrong

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

We did this awhile ago. Somebody did a background track then a bunch of us contributed leads. Don't have a clue whatever happened to the finished tune tho.

There's a chance that the recent massive grassfires in the panhandle area have affected him, I dunno. I'm not exactly sure where he lives, but if I recall it's somewhat near Amarillo. Many many acres have burned up there. Then again, I could be wrong.
