my girlfriend sings, and her parents got her voice lessons for christmas. so, it's been about 8 months of lessons, one half hour lesson per week. and she has found that her range has increased alot. and now she can sing a song from her favorite movie (sleeping beauty) which she could never sing before because it goes pretty darn high. but now she can. so, I guess I'd say get some voice lessons and in a few months your range should increase... or, just get a couple of lessons and ask your instructer how to increase range, then once he/she tells you then you can stop taking lessons and practice it on your own to increase your range.
