I am by no means a beginner but have yet to learn how to use a whammy bar properly. I know the main principles like divebombs etc but I cant get them to sound right. Any tips or help much appreciated :D

Just mess around with it... I like windmilling on the arm for a bit of show-boating.

Check out http://www.guitarshredshow.com - link was posted in the 'places to visit' section, but picked up a few ideas from the lesson section on the site... and it's a laugh too!

I find over use of the bar is like over use of anything else... do the same trick twice, and people are like.... yeah.... whatever....

When ever I do dive bombs I whip my hand down the neck and dive it. It works best on the thicker strings like the low e or g strings. There are a lot of possibilities with the bar. You'll just have to experiment and maybe you'll come up with something no one has before.
