Snoring

Jeezus f*ing christ, this is going to be a long semester.

What a few of my friends and I did this year is we blocked off a section of this dorm so we all live right by each other. What this means for me is I'm living with a friend now instead of in a single.

One thing I did not know about my friend until tonight is that he snores. He snores very loudly and irregularly, and by loud I mean like a chainsaw.

So, how does one stop someone from snoring?

I'd go for violence... he'll learn... :D

Serious answer - you can get plaster strips (elastoplast I think) that fit over the nose and help breathing. Years ago me and my brothers bought some for my Dad, he was worse than your friend (no matter how bad he is!)... they work....

Maybe he has a deviated septum.

He only snores when he's sleeping on his back, so it's probably something simple like sleep aphnea.

Suggest those breath-right strips you put over your nose. They work, I know for a fact......

Isn't sleep apnea where you stop breathing when you're sleeping?

Yeah, sleep apnea is when you stop breathing and it wakes you up, most of the time freaking out, but not always....I know a couple of people with it, and it's kind of funny you brought it up b/c my Dad is going to a sleep place where they monitor you while you sleep sometime next week. They think he's started having it.....

Sleep Apnea doesn't have anything to do with snoring, or atleast I don't think it does.....Snoring is done when you sleep on you back, something about the sinus cavities not draining well if your on your back.

I like people who deny they snore. :D


Sometimes my dad will doze off, start snoring, and wake himself up by it :p

any kind of practical joke, put his hand in a bowl of warm water, put shaving cream in his hand then tickle his face with a feather, shave his eyebrows, whatever...

don't know how that's gonna stop the snoring, but it'll sure be fun!

my friends stepdad has a huge snoring problem, he actually has a machine that he puts over his mouth. it looks like a breathing mask that connects to some weird machine via a big tube that is supposed to make him not snore. he works at intel, and i think he makes bank, so its probably expensive. plus, hes already a bald, fat impotent man. i dont know how much sexier a breathing mask makes you at night.
