I stepped on a bee once... barefoot.

I got stung on the eyelid by a red wasp when I was younger... quite painful. I'm a little allergic to yellow jackets, and got stung twice on the neck at the same time in different places. Very painful and very hard to breath afterwards.. quite scarry too. Got stung by something on the tip of my middle finger that left this huge stinger in it. That was horrible and my finger swole to the size of a polish sausage. Been stung many times, but those are the most memorable.

I remember getting stung by a fat bumblebee on my lip when I was a kid. It swelled up huge and I looked quite comical for a little while afterwards.

Holy %$#^! That really sucks. When you got stung on the finger, were you playing guitar yet?

Yup! It was right before a big football game too. I actually had my best game of the season that night too.

I've never been stung. Don't have a clue what it feels like.
When I was a kid I used to take off running whenever a bee or wasp came near me. Now I'm nervous cause I just know with my luck I'll get stung for the first time and the headline in the paper the next day will be..

I've never been stung before either, bee or wasp. I have been stung by a man-of-war though (purple jellyfish common to the Gulf coast), and that in comparison is much worse. But as far as funny sting stories, my wife was stung by a bee during her high school graduation ceremony.

I walked into a hornets nest once. I got stung like a dozen times on my right forearm.

Needless to say, I am not allergic to bee venom.

Its like someone took a sewing needle ( the ones with the colored balls at the end) and jammed it in 1/2'' into your skin. Its not a pain to make you cry, but doesn't change in pain or dissipate for a while. Bt if you ever do get stung, just put gas on it and rub it in. Works wonders, used it since I was 7.

Bee stings aren't very bad. They feel like someone pinching you. Yellowjackets and Red Wasps are a different storry though. They feel like someone shot you with a high powered pellet gun, and then the sweeling, and throbbing begin and begins to feel like somone is holding a lit match right on your skin.

I got stung by what turned out to be a paper wasp the other day. It didn't hurt to bad, just felt like a quick prick with a needle, and didn't linger very long. It was just slightly irritated and itched a little afterwards, but it left a nasty welp. it was dark red in the center, then pink for about the size of a nickle and then a swollen puffy ring around that the size of a quarter.

Regular honeybee's have jagged stingers. This is why they die after they sting you, because their stinger is ripped out of them from the small barbs on it. I'm sure there are other bee's like this as well. There are a lot of different bees. There are around 20 different types of paper wasp's. It took me a while to find that pic/link of one like what stung me.

The ones you really need to watch out for are:

Red Wasps. Contrary to what that article say's, they hurt like a bitch!

Yellow Jacket

Hornet

Not to say that other's aren't just as bad, but those are the most common (at least around here) to watch out for.

Weird coincidence.
My dad was just stung 3 times this morning by a wasp while he was clearing out weeds.

Kill you? I dunno bout that...maybe if you swim into a school of them, or it stings you so bad you can't swim anymore and drown. Usually you just get a tentacle around an apendage (arm or leg) and they float away. I thought a rope was going around my ankle, and it didn't really hurt at first, but then it was like pouring alcohol into a deep cut...searing pain. But my brother caught one in a wave that hit him right in his chest. He was about 15 at the time, and he went into shock and we had to call an ambulance.

On a related side note...my high school mascot was a yellow jacket!

Actually a guy from town here died last year from a bee sting. It was in his pop can and he took a swig and got stung in the mouth. I guess he was allergic or something cause his throat closed up.
