Personally, I think bin Laden is small potatoes (in terms of an actual threat) unless he teams up with somebody with nuclear weapons and an axe to grind with us (or who is simply indifferent and happy to sell a couple off). 9/11 killed a lot of people, but that's nothing compared to the kind of casualties that could be lost in an actual shooting war when you face a [more] equally matched enemy.

When it comes right down to it, if we catch Osama, then he becomes a Martyr and is still a hero to the Jihadists. At least right now, he has to keep his profile very low, lest a Hellfire missle atomize his ass.
