I want to start learning jazz and blues stuff and I don't know where to start. My goal of learning this kinda stuff is to let it have an influence on me, like it would've on hendrix, calpton eric johnson, satch......

Anyone want to point me in the right direction?

have you just started playing guitar or are you moving to blues/jazz?

I dont knwo much baotu jazz but if you want to play some blue the best thign to do is spend some time learning the blues scales, then just improvise to easy 12 bar blues.

Listen to Hendrix's album called "jimi hendrix blues" (yes i know very original) but that should sort you out.

if at first your improvising doesnt sound too good dont worry. It takes time for ppl to get it together!

Happy blues! (contradiction!? )

I never got what the 12 bar blues were. It might be nice if someone can explain to me so I might be able to do blues improv pieces...

Might want to start with the blues....Jazz is considered one of the hardest styles to learn and play, along with classical. If you can play Jazz, you can play anything.....
