QUestion about Crate Amp

Sorry for the novice question but I have an older Crate amp (late 80s to early 90s maybe) It has a high and low input. What are they for? I've plugged into both and it seems like one is higher (louder) than the other but I'm not really sure. I know this is probably a dumb question but if you don't ask...

it inputs for both high and low output guitars.
if you have a strat (or other guitar with single coils) your gunna want to put it in the low input.
if you have a guitar with humbuckers, put it into the high.

Thanks, I had a feeling it was something like that. I have a Yamaha with single coils and an Ibanez with humbuckers so I will switch them back and forth to see the difference.

I'm guessing an acoustic electric would be low input?
