I've got an Ibanez Roadstar II, in your opinion what height should the strings be set to above the frets ?, as an absolute beginner I have no idea what a guitar should be set up to. I could do with all the help I could, to make my playing/learning as easy as possible.
The strings are 10-46 Regular.

I'm not trying to take shortcuts, I practise on average 2-3 hrs per day. And Yippee my finger tips are as hard as nails now :D.

Any help greatly appreciated

really any height is fine, but I wouldnt put them up too high, it might be a little difficult to play.
I am Comfortably Numb... :D

I have been playing years and I have given up on adjusting my own guitar. I pay to have a guitar tech do it.

but....if I were to adjust my own, I would put them as low as I could without causing a fret buzz when I played the guitar.

If you have never heard a fret buzz, you will know it when you do. It sounds just like the name.
