I have heard people talk about playing a chord, e.g. "C" in a particular "chord" position like in an "A" position. Can anyone explain what this means?
Thanks

Moveable barre chords
Imagine an E minor on the second fret(5th and 4th strings)
Your using two fingers to hold down two strings, the other four string are called open strings and they are fretted at the Nut (The white plastic piece )
You can slide this chord shape providing all six strings are kept in the same position to each other - effectively you are sliding the nut as well as your two fingers, this is done by pressing your first finger across all six strings-(Barre) and using other fingers to fret the two notes.
Moving one fret, the chord will become F minor -- as there are no half notes between E and F or B and C
if you always take the lazy route
