hey yall.

k, heres what im looking for.
i dont have much money.

and i need a bigger amp then my fender frontman lol.
it works great for recording but not so much for a gig.

i need a nice sized amp... mabie one with 2x10 in speakers...
or if i cant get that 1x12 might be fine.
(my mom would kill me if i ordered anything bigger- "you'll wake the whole neighborhood! thanks mom, thats the point. haha)

i would preferably want a tube amp...but they're so expensive... even on ebay, the prices still go WAY up.

soooo heres why i want help- is there any brand you know of that i could get a nice, gigable amp for (preferably) less than 200?
JK

You might be able to find a used Peavey Classic 30 (which really isn't a bad little amp) for that much, but you're probably going to need to save up about $300-400 to get what you're looking for.

Unless you find a ebay deal or go to a used music pawn shop, you my find your search endless. Here in Toronto, old Traynors go for a tad higher then that...that would be your best bet by far. http://www.capsulemusic.com/retail/detail.asp?ID=1628 or http://www.songbirdmusic.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=7223 however my suggestion is to save up a bit more before you make a purchase for purchase sakes.
WWSD? What would stevie do?

your not goin to find a new gigable tube amp for under 200 sorry, but you could get a podxt effects processor by line6, you can plug it into a PA, and it models popular tube amps like vintage marshalls, and fenders, well that costs 300 so good luck with your search!

well, I doubt that you'll be able to find an amp that can be loud enough to play gigs AND be quiet enough for home use without "waking the whole neighborhood" unless you find a nice big amp (2x12 possibly) that has a headphones jack, then use the headphones at home, and crank it at a gig. or, just save up some more, and do what I do, I got a big amp (fender fm212r, 2x12, 100w, solid state though) for playing gigs, and I'm looking at smaller quieter amps to use at home. I was looking at the peavey classic 30, which was already mentioned, you might be able to find a used one for fairly cheap, but i doubt as low as $200, you might want to save up some more before you get this new amp.

Yeah, as said... if you're looking at tube amps, you're looking at spending some cash. My friend and I were once in the same situation as you are in right now... we both wanted to get a nice amp for cheap. My friend went through about 3 cheap amps before he decided to save up and buy a really nice amp. I made due with my cheap practice amp until I saved enough money to get the JCM 800 2x12 that I have now. It took me longer but in the end it was more than worth it. Think long term rather than "I need an amp right NOW". I would suggest looking at the Line 6 Spider II series. They are really nice amps for the price. I think the 1x12 is like 300 or something like that. It's loud enough for any gig you'll prolly do and it can be quiet. Good luck
