Just thought I would add in that I have the exact same problem, when exporting wav's from sonar, programs have trouble opening them.

Real player loads it but wont play, shows the time length of the song but the play buttons are greyed out. Win Media player reports an errror. Roxio sound editor reports an error.

The only program I have that can open the wav is soundforge which luckily I can use to convert to a high quality MP3 which is readable by everything.
