Yeh i agree there isnt a a best, maybe your question should have been whats your favourite or which is the most versatile, in which case it would have to be the electrcic but all are great instruments!!!

Hey-ey Joe...
I think that as a whole there is no one single type of guitar that is the best. They all compliment each other nicely and they all have their own purposes. As far as what I think is the most important of all types I would have to say the acoustic because it is the most simple basic form of the guitar. It's simple in design yet you can still do a lot with it. I also believe in acoustics as good tools for beginning guitarists. When a player is learning I believe they should first learn to PLAY the guitar. When players start learning to play on electrics they start using a lot of distortion and effects that cloud the ear of the player and they never develop an ear. Players should start on an acoustic so that they can learn to squeeze the most tone that they can out of only 6 strings with no effects or eq's or anything else to alter the sound. I've jammed acoustic guitars with quite a few players that have never really played acoustics and they can't play clean, or their fingers get tired really fast because of the heavier gauge strings. Also they can't stand the fact that some acoustics you just can't play that fast. The action is generally higher and the strings are a higher gauge. So I say the acoustic is the more important in most aspects... I also love the raw emotion that the acoutic can convey.

hmm, I choose electric, I just love em... the look, the feel, the sound... but I've got absolutely nothing against acoustics, I plan on getting an acoustic in the not to distant future...
