i just got hired at wendys today. yea, woohoo. money. cars. money to buy guitars i want. yea, whatever. i had to have a silent moment to myself after sitting on the bus on the way home, looking at myself in the reflection of the tinted windows. im a ****ing suit. buh! i had to give a damn speech on why jazzband helped me become a better ****ing person. um, i dunno, i got to play more guitar at school? man, i hate those interview questions. but anywho, yea so now that i am at the bottom of the barrel as far as jobs go, i might as well join a punk rock group again and bitch about the indecencies of white suburbia.

Since when does having a job make one a loser?

There are many worse things in life than minimum wage.

If there's any case where having a job makes you a loser it's having a job and not even knowing what your company does. I was first hired 2 years ago as a temporary at my current job and I didn't know what my work was going towards. After that I was naturally laid off, per se. A year later that same position opened up again and I was back on the force where I still didn't know what I was doing... and that continued for about 8 or so more months until my company's purpose was so blatently obvious that I had no choice but to understand. And that might not even be loserish, more so just dumb. I dunno, I know what I'm doing now, so yay for me.

Yep my 1st job was flipping burgers at Burger King...and I took pride in it. I could make one mean whopper (really fast too)! We used to have races on the assembly line. I don't think anyone ever went below about 8 seconds (that's a whopper w/cheese with all the veggies). I used to boast I was the fastest this side of the Mississippi.
But playing around with the drive-thru intercom was the funnest...adding fake static at the beginning and end of sentences, weird voices (like robot, etc.), and the occasional pickup of Taco Bell transmissions from across the street. Oh yeah, and smogging out the office and storeroom was pretty cool too! Good times, good times.

A friend of mine and I used to sing the ending of the star spangled banner to the customers before taking their order when we worked at mcdonalds. I had also earned the "I've never been greeted like that before" award when I fired off a line like "Thank you for choosing mcdonald's, what can I, the cunning and handsome employee, get for you, the wise and charming customer?" Most customers will find it funny when you act like you have down syndrome in through the headset, but some won't... and they're ruin it for everyone. Trust me on that one. Oh yeah, and don't jump out of the drive through window. You'll get a write up or something if you get caught.

haha thats so rad...yea ive heard ****ed up stories about burger king eployees getting fired for pissing in the pickle jars and screwing after hours and stuff. well, im real stoked becasue for the first time i can go into a guitar shop, and actually shop for a guitar, because ill have money. ive been broke since i was like 14, so now im stoked to get a paycheck. i was just at the guitar shop today (its across the street from wendy's, i went in there about an hour before i went for my interview) and they had this amazing acoustic electric....i couldnt give you specs becuase honestly, im no good at it. it has a fixed bridge, got the little "f" cutouts, and its like a surf green color. you could almost see the ventures or the fireaballs playing them. its fantastic! whats sad is that i cant even remember the brand...i thought it was epiphone at first, becasue they do the kindof immitation ones...but i think it was a gibson, i cant remember.

Just don't go buying things because you have the money to buy things with. It doesn't hurt at all to stash a bit away for a rainy day.

better than what I have accomplished, I've applied at so many places and called them back to see whats up and I never get it. If its a fast food restaurant alot of times they screw up my order  at the dairy queen where I live I'll go through maybe 3 or 4 orders before they finally get it right. Even when I'm at the register getting my order taken, the cashier lady usually doesnt look like shes all there. You literally have to be retarded to work there.

Sound advice. But I prolly had more spending money to blow then making min. wage than I do now, just cuz I got more bills to pay now. It's like a vicious circle, the more you make, the more bills you gotta pay, so you still need to make more, so you can buy more stuff and get more bills...

oh, i know dude. some of the people i see working there, im just ****ing amazed. a few of the girls I KNOW do crack on a daily ****ing basis. i just wanted to grab the employer by the collar and say "im not the best man you could hire, but im sure as **** better than half the people you put behind the register today, they cant make a goddamn frostie without ****ing the **** up." of course, i kissed ass, shine my knickers, and walked in with a goofy ass "ill work hard for the paych-i mean, the customer" look on my face.

I'll be getting a job in two weeks when school starts again. I'll be working after school at a Catholic school helping watch the 3-year-olds to 8th graders. Hopefully it works out even though I don't like real young kids too well. I'm just desperate for a job because not many places around here will hire a 15-year-old. Hopefully I'll get a job at the library when I turn 16.

The Burger King stories were funny. :D

well I'm trying to get a job too... I applied at blockbuster and hollywood video, doing online applications, and they both said no, just because I wasn't 16, even though I'll be 16 in 26 days, and I have graduated high school! I'm gonna apply at starbucks, they make good money there... like $7.50 an hour, and according to my sister who used to work there, about another $3 an hour average in tips.

I used to work at Blockbuster too. Cool place to work. You get 5 free rentals a week and a 10% discount on purchases. The only cons though are you generally have to work pretty late if you close (after midnight and some stores are open till 2:00 am in the summer), you don't make a whole lot starting out, and it's only part-time hours (don't expect over 25 hours a week). And oh yeah, working on holidays sucks too...they never close.
