Left handed guitar questions

I am a left handed person who would like to play a guitar. I am going to be enrolling in a class and I was wondering if I should buy a left handed guitar or a right handed because the books will be written for right players and the instructior might as well teach only in the right position.
What should I do?

You should do whatever is comfortable for you.....I've known left handed people that play guitar right handed, but they learned that way b/c of the lack of left handed guitars that are available.

If your left handed, I'd say go with a left handed guitar, but that's just my opinion.

My buddy's a lefty and he learned how to play right handed and you'd never know the difference. I guess if you're just starting out, guitar is foreign to you no matter which way you play.
