I use an American Deluxe Strat through and fender twin reverb, and a ts9 for distortion. I'm looking to add some versatility to my setup with a couple different effects, namely a wah and maybe a delay. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with good wah pedals, specifically through this setup. I play new orleans funk rock and am also into the jam band scene.

only wah that I own/have ever played was on my multi-effects board... but, the most popular wah seems to be the dunlop crybaby wah... the 535Q (the one I'm looking at getting sometime soon) has a knob on it to switch between 6 (i think it was 6) different kinds of wah to suit all styles. my be worth looking into.
some reviews on the dunlop crybaby 535Q

generally vox has a thicker tone, but the cry baby has a wider spectrum. I prefer the vox

Vox, Dunlop, and Fulltone will be some of your best choices. I personally use the original cry baby. I'm not a heavey wah user, so it gets the job done nicely. You defanately need to check some wah's out for yourself though, to find the right one for you.

Definitely try before you buy. I use an old Dunlop JH-1 because I got it for a good price on eBay. It works well for the little bit that I use it. I dunno - I might be blown away by something else. I just haven't looked around.

Definately try some different wah's out. I tried a bunch and finally found the one I was looking for, the Dunlop Zakk Wylde crybaby.
Check out my band:

be sure to check out the RMC line as well.
I use a picture wah and it's the best wah tone out there imo

Yup... a Mister Cry Baby, made in Italy by Jen Electronica.
If you're gonna use a wah, might as well get an original.

Well, I use an "original" cry baby. The model name, not an acutal 60's wah.

I do like the crybaby, but one pedal I like that not many others do is the Ibanez Weeping Demon. I don't know... it just sounds good.
Pleasure.

I have a Jimi Hendrix custom fender strat and i use Vox crybaby mah an dits immense. I bought it from new york for around $165 a couple fo years ago.

I also have a Gibson les paul standard, and i use the same wah with it. It arguably sounds even better. Especially when you play without a band. The les paul gives it depth. I play it thru a marshall 30th anniversary 100watt amp.

but yeh, VOX CRY BABY. immense! :D
