aw I am like you. I have been at it for close to 2 months..
the 1st thing you need to do is start with major chords like C D G
and practice them over and over. Until you can change from one to another. hitting all the strings at the same time. It is pretty much building cordination. the 1st week is builiding up the calsuses on the tips of your fingues. but after you get them you will be glad. dont pick them you want them.

You might want to learn all the parts of the guitar all so if you do not already know. and read about how to read tabs.

they tell me there are lots of song you can play with C D G . so i guess this is the 1st step. I have been practicing them about 1hr a day. And i will just keep doing it till my fingues do it without much thought.

good luck. I cant wait. to play a song. will no ****-up :D

If you click the Guitartricks logo at the top of the page, it takes you to the home page.

Clicking >Beginners< in the toolbar next to the logo on the home page takes you to the Beginners section.[/font]

Along with learning chords, get yourself a little metronome and learn to keep time. Without learning a sense of rhythm, all your stuff sounds weird. When I first started learning to play, people would ask "What's that?" I'd tell them and they'd say it really didn't sound like it. So I knew I was screwing up somewhere. I asked a friend about it, and he got me a metronome and taught me what it did and how to use it. I improved alot in a very short time.
