can you give a better description? like, what kind of noise? like a buzzing? or feedback? or what?

when I turn the volume of my guitar more than 3 and just touch the strings with my hand and release it (same thing happens when I play it).. it buzzes. so i had to keep my guitar's volume just upto 2, and i don't get any good distortion sound.
I'll try to turn the gain down from 10 as soon as i get home :) .

yeah, that's perfectly normal, pretty much any guitar will do that... if it's really really bothering you, then you could get a noise gate pedal. such as this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/fg=142/g=guitar/s=effects/search/detail/base_pid/151331/
but it is very normal, and yes turning the gain down from 10 will help. lol.
