I don't have a zoom (I use a POD XT) but unless you have those single coil pickups he uses you won't get that scratchy picking sound... unless you have a pickup emulator? Try looking at his website, some guitarists like Vinnie Moore show their setups... otherwise go to Line6.com and check out the POD settings for Yngwie, you should get an idea of how to program the same effects to your Zoom

Tone is a very subjective thing. So, what might be the holy grail of tone for one might be horrible for another.
If you can help the guy out, then do so, but there's no need for telling him he has horrible taste in tone. He didn't ask if the tone was good or not, just how to get it.

Woh, relax there! I did suggest checking line6.com for the POD settings, then applying the same effects to the zoom... just saying that I don't like Yngwie's tone... then again he must be doing something right as there are plenty of others with a similar sound eg Joe Stump, George Bellas etc. and he's sold millions of records. I just hate that scratchy single coil sound...
