Best thing I can suggest is to find as much inspiration as you can. Good inspiration (in my opinion) isn't something you can just turn on the television or radio and find. It's something you have to search for. Finding good inspiration can often be as time consuming as practicing your guitar, but it will give you goals, standards and expectations. So I say find something that takes things to the next level. I'd also suggest reading. Read about techniques, exercises, theory, just about anything you can get your hands on. When you start to get tired of playing the same chords, just find something else to do with the guitar. Try composing away from the guitar even. Just keep challenging yourself. Oh yeah, and talk to people too. Nothing clears things up more than sharing thoughts. And this happens to be about the best place to go for finding someone that knows their ****. That being said, welcome to you.

Whatever you do, don't eat limes. A friend of mine ate a lime once and BAM!! Two years later. Herpes.
