Whatever you do, don't eat limes. A friend of mine ate a lime once and BAM!! Two years later. Herpes.
we will see- but if you look at who i listed the influence got smaller and smaller
till today where everyone has their indi band they like.
whatever - we are definetly overdue a modern day jimi.
guess its up to us. the next generation.

I agree with for the most part...but to mention satch's name there..is a bit out of context...
My 2 cents...
My apoligize, if needed.
@Polera may be correct. there may never be another Hendrix. But it is fun to discuss and annoy each other with our suggestionsš. And of course part of the process must be to define what is meant by "new Hendrix". Someone that sounds like him? Someone that approaches his skill but doesn't necessarily sound like him? Or someone that is going to have a lasting influence on future guitarists?
What ever your criteria for another Hendrix here are a couple that I have seen that may approach one of these definitions:
Eric Gales was called a "guitar tornado" by some magazine. https://www.ericgales.com My wife and I saw him on the Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea as well as a couple local shows. Unbelievable guitar chops. Interestingly, coincidentally?, also left handed, like Jimi, but he plays left handed on a right handed guitar, meaning he looks down and sees the strings in reverse position.
Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. https://www.christonekingfishingram.com We were also introduced to him on the KTBAS cruise. And we were fortunate to get a chance to chat with him. He is not only an awesome guitarsit but just a really nice kid.
Jarekus Singleton. https://www.alligator.com/artists/Jarekus-Singleton/ If memory serves, and it rarely does anymore, he was a top seeded high school basketball player. I tried to find where I read that fact before writing this but couldn't. But apparently he chose a music career over sposrts. We saw him at a small venue here close to my house. A tremendous entertainer and great guitarist. It is purely impression, and no data to back up my impression, but I sense he is struggling. I hope he gets rewarded for his careert decision!

Music is art, so a musician is an artist. There are no new, or no replacements, too much of the artists individual personality is presented in their work. The good news is that we can appreciate more than one artist's work. The topic is still entertaining to discuss, and this type of thread keeps the forum fun, so thank you.
"The topic is still entertaining to discuss". I did not realize I was necroposting to the extent that I did! I'm not sure how a post from 2005 came up in my search for new postings. but it did and I didn't catch the date. After apologies I will just say I hope my list of a few new guitar slingers will find some readers with interest.

Chuck Berry - Jimi Hendrix - EvH. They are for me the landmarks in the history of Rockguitar.
