Tips to master the S.R.V texas blues

5 "easy" steps to get you on your way to playin texas blues!

1. Play with lots of percussive energy

2.Rake the strings for more intesity

3.Try to use heavy strength strings or high-midrange/high output pickups

4.Try to fit some rhythmic strumming and octave guitar ex. "Couldnt stand the weather." "Fire".

5.Play like there's no tomorrow!

It also helps to kick ****ing ass, much like SRV.

My suggestion is not to try to play like SRV or u could end up in wallowing depression...he was talented he cannot be dupicated...

I agree with Jolly.
It helps to be as kick a** as SRV
When it comes down to it, our guitar's will always be there for us. :rolleyes:

Really nice advice but, how about learn to understand the different types of BLUES and understand that "Texas Blues" or SHUFFLE style goes beyound the great SRV...Try Albert King. Just try'en to help. :o
