ok, i got a tone pot. and its not functional sometimes...
its workin like a charm when i test it with first turn, muddy and bright. then second turn sounds all the same... dang all bright...

wiring is:
grounded pot,
pots middle = pickup wire, from volume pot
pots left = .22 capacitor (other leg of the capacitor soldered to the ground)

i try 250K, 500K, A and B and the situation awfully same...
so whats the problem?

It seems that some part of your wiring is not solid. The tone pot is sometimes being disconnected from the pickup, causing the sound to be bright.
