what sort of adapter ?

You really want to run a line out (not headphones out as the impedance will be all messed up) of your amp to your sound card (sounds like you have the right hole but check the manual). If this is the case you probably only need either a balanced stereo 1'/4" female to 1/8" male adapter or a mono adaptor for unbalanced connection.

Laskies or Dixons should be able to sort you out.
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.

check radio shack. I bought my adapter there for 5 dollars. It is a 1/4 to 1/8 stereo adapter. My amp has a line out so I can hook it to a mixer or pc. What kind of amp are you using?

well, I do the same thing, what I did is went to radioshack, unfortunately they didn't have any 1/4" mono to 1/8" stereo, so, I got a 1/4" mono to 1/4" stereo, and a 1/4" stereo to a 1/8" stereo, so, I go through 2 adaptors... total cost for both was like $3.75 USD so it's not very expensive.

and I think you've got the right hole. mine is next to the mic input... it goes like this on mine:

Right: line in, Middle: microphone, Left: line out

I have a dell pc, if that affects it any (I know only a little about computers)
