technique is amazing, whether he's 8 or not. I'll stop short of agreeing with his virtuosity though - he might not know how to play anything else :p

These kids eh? nowt better to do than practice 23.5 hours per day. It'll be interesting to see how all these child prodigies turn out.... will they 'make it', or have to take jobs at Gas Stations because they didn't have the time for school work?

I couldn't play like that when I was 8.... I think I'd managed Em & D by then!

I give the little guy two thumbs up because of his age and plus, I can't do that :( . I tried to teach my eight year (age?) old nephew how to play and he couldn't even stretch his fingers across two frets, they just stayed punched up in one fret.

So is that what tapping is? Just hit the fret board with your fingers really fast! I can do that...I think.

In response to having seen the video and reading the previous thoughts. The kid's great. That's all there is to it. He obviously knows what he's doing. I didn't care much for what he was playing, but the way he played it (technique) was great. Better than me anyway. He gets my seal of approval.

My favorit part of the video is when he wipes his snots. :) That's what an 8 year old should be doing.

Forcing your kid to pay guitar is fcukt up.
Never force your kids do anything. You can point them towards soemthing, but let them make their own decisions.

Agreed. I was forced to go to school, like most kids.... my parents thought of my playing guitar as a waste of time...

Now some years later, I have a well paying job which no doubt the folks think is great, but I make as much playing guitar...

They still think it's a waste of time though - even in the face of the evidence...

I'm not sure I knew what I wanted at 8 years old.... maybe to be an astronaut...

Quite impressive, although extremely sterile and obviously well rehearsed.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

[i play clasical as well]
same, shredding is one thing and wailing out power chords wow...

now lets watch him play Aguado's rondo in Am =)

[when it comes to certain classical songs like that rondo i can almost get as fast his shredding]
