I had the same choice, and went with the POD... I preferred the voicings when I compared them in the shop, but then I had a POD2, and am used to how they work - perhaps I'm biased.

The XT live was also fractionally cheaper, so I couldn't fault it....

Have you checked both out? Just see which one you can dial in your sounds easiest / most reliably with. Also, the final sound will be shaped by your amp, so it might we worth considering that.....
