Well most people will say to start slow, use a metrome and gradually increase your speed make sure u use a clean tone even if its distorted to make sure ur accuracy is right and u have no fretbuzz when playing.

If you haven't already, download the tab from www.mysongbook.com and open it with guitar pro. I'm trying to learn this song too, and i'm just playing it reeeeeeeheeeeally slowly at first, and increase the speed as i learn it. I also use a backing-track for the song. The very beginning of the song is an arpeggio i think, try sweeping it.

Man, that track is one seriously difficult piece to tackle for a beginner. Stick with it but don't expect to be able to play it for at least 2 years. I'm serious. Anyone who can play that piece as it should be played will be ranked as a top class player that has mastered every technique available. Just letting you know what you are in for! Don't be disheartened if it takes two or three months to learn how to play some of the licks.

The opening lick goes like this:

---------------15-19-----19(bend)-19-17--20-17-17-19----
-------------17-----------------------------------------17-17-17-17
----------16---------------------------------------------------------15-15
--------17-------------------------------------------------------------
-14-19------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------

etc.

This track is easy in places but the real part that you will find challengeing is the massive set of extremely fast and complicated arpeggios that start about a third of the way in. Mastering them will really help to clean up your technique;-) The most difficult part is trying to maintain the fluidity and absolute clarity that Angelo does.

Good luck!

superhuman, that tab is full of errors. Trust me, i have 2 gp-tabs, a midi file, a backing track, 2 videos and an mp3 file of this song, none of them sound like the tab you posted, sorry. :o

Man, thats what came with the dvd I got, "Speed Lives" or"Speed Kills" (not sure which cos I got both). Anyway the dvd I got is the instructional that shows you how to play "No Boundaries" phrase by phrase and it came with a printed tab. That's what the tab says and it matches what Michael Angelo says on the dvd note for note... There are plenty of hammer on's and pulls etc that I didnt tab in the previous post and there are no particular pauses or rests marked out it in either (unlike the printed version I got), maybe that's what the problem is? Also, the printed version I got was actually tabbed by Michael Angelo, not a third party...

ok, so i get it that you didn't tab the hammer on's and pull off's and so on, but it seems to be 2 notes higher than all other tabs i've seen. the 19 should be 17 the 16 should be 14.....and so on. But if the dvd vers. is tabbed like that then i'll have to try playing it like this later, good thing you posted it, thanx man

Do you know if he uses a different tuning than standard tuning for this song, cuz that might explain the difference in tabs?

I'll try to scan a copy later and email it through to you, let me know where to send it. I just had another look, it's definitely 14 to 19. It's a great tab but helps to work it out with the instructional dvd.
Best of luck!

Thank you. ;)

I watched both videos of no boundaries (speed kills & speed lives) , i think he plays it like you tabbed it in speed lives, and the way it's tabbed in gp-tabs in speed kills.
