I can finger pick at an average to slow speed, but however hard I try I cant get the speed up. Whats the best way to do this and is there any specific technique that goes with it or helps. I want to be able to play Blind Blake's Southern Rag. Any help would be nice!

Well, I don't know how well I can explain it, but when you fingerpick fast, you want to move your fingers in a circular motion over the strings, kinda the same way that you do when you're sweeping with a pick. Use your thumb for the three lower strings, and your index, middle, and ring for the higher strings. When you do it right, it should look and feel like you're stroking the strings.



Ok, so maybe that explanation sucked. Hopefully someone else will come along and do a better job.
