learn a couple of different shapes of Major and minor scale, pentatonic scales and also the manes of the notes on each string.
And be prepared for some finger end misery, especially with round wound strings.
Oh yes a little bit of chord theory would probably help as you can effectively invert chords that a guitarist is playing ! Cool hu !!
