i write songs but........

i cant play guitar worth my life (my life is not worth much) and i am wanting to talk to peopl on my thread so talk (type). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :eek: soulless rocks!! :eek:

i currently have 6 songs under my belt (no soul!, doorway to salvation, im back!!, light of fiery, forever eternal, and "forget about tomorrow"). i wrote forget about tomorrow for a new band named "forget about tomorrow". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :eek: soulless rocks!!! :eek:

Sounds like you've got a good opening line for a song right there...

Now just fill in the blanks with a bunch of words, come up with a song title, a bridge and a final line that sums up the whole thing.
String a bunch of chords together using a drum beat as inspiration.
Then layer a whole buch of other stuff on top of it on a multitrack.
Go back through the mix later and remove anything that doesn't fit and you've got yerself a song.

When you write how do you start I start by just sitting and some times I won't even know it and I'll be watching tv and an idea will come to me so I grab my notebook grab my guitar and write a song. ;)
