i need to learn how to know which scales i should use when trying to improvise when jamin some metal with my buddys. some one plz help meeee :D

Am pentatonic : A..C..D..E..G

Em pentatonic : E..G..A..B..D

Very similar aren't they.....

i would say use the pentatonics but with different roots, like a progresssion and and some minor and mayor arpeggios. Put some chromatic into it, hehe.

use minor, relative major scales, use pentatonics, then chromatics and if that isnt enough yet start to improvise with harmonic minor and or harmonic modes after that ull be able to improvise on everything
