Yeah, check out the Spider II. I've played one and they get really good tone for the price. I have also heard the Vox amp that PRS suggested is good. So you might want to go check one out at a shop. The only Crate that I've ever played is a Blue Voodoo 120 half stack that I use to have. I was very impressed with it as a tube amp. I'm not sure about there solid state combo stuff. But yeah, check out the Line 6 Spider II
