I think its good to have a really nice guitars at some point and have it on a stand in your room so you can always see it and you will want to just pick it up and play it because it looks feels and sounds so good. I'm not saying it will make you a better player but it helps only because you'd be playing more not because of what its made of or the shape. Think about it would you rather play a crappy guitar from like radio shack or a really high end jackson,ibanez, ESP,PRS or Dean etc.
