By way of charting progress, I can now comfortably do quarter notes alt picked at 160 bpm.... so I am getting there. It's weird now the faster you go the slower it sounds... :confused:

You know what I mean? When I started this thread I could do quarters at 140 and couldn't see any space for more notes, but the more I practiced the easier it got, and the more space I had.... duh?

Obviously, I not going to pull a malmsteen, and phrasing will always be more important to me... I just hate being in guitar shops and being shown up by a 10 year old!
