Hello all,

I am currently using an analog four track to record. I would like to be able to utilize my PC to record. Are there any reasonably priced, quality recording software suites that anybody has had luck with?

Any feedback, positive or negative, would be very helpful.

Thanks a bunch,

Greg :)

I would try out Cubase VST, depending on your soundcard you should be able to plug your guitar straight into your pc and record directly into the sequencer. It also comes with a basic version of WaveLab which is pretty useful for editing. Unlike Guitartrax you can write any amount of midi accompaniments into Cubase and if your system is powerful enough you can have infinite tracks of audio and midi. If you like this, then you can splash out on Cubase SX or you could always have a look on Bearshare or Morpheus for a cracker copy... not that I would of course!
I have heard that ProTools is better/more versatile for professional audio but Cubase VST has more than enough for a basic home setup and it won't break the bank.

when you say doctor, you mean like a medical doctor? or just someone who went to college for a long time, and now can put the little title in front of their name when in reality they are like a scientist or whatever.

I downloaded a demo version of FL Studios Producer and am way impressed by it. Its totally free. The only issue with the demo copy is u cant save the stuff you are working on, and I have problems with Eq'ing once I am done programming. But, its got tons of cool gadgets on it, and a super human drum sequencer. There is a small learning curve but besides that I absolutely love the program. But, I use a 4 track too and with FL studio you can sequence a bus load of tracks and record em to the tape deck. Ive built tracks with upwards of 64 seperate parts before. Good luck !
