Is it possible to plug my mic into the second input on my amp so i can play and use my mic at the same time?

The problem with that is that both inputs will be going through the amp's preamp, so if you're playing with a distorted guitar, then your voice will also be distorted. If you're playing clean, then your voice will be eq'd like your guitar, which probably wont be a good thing.

It will sound like **** unless you have a HiZ mic.

Mics output Low Z signal and amp inputs want hi Z. Consequently one of the main things wrong with this setup is the really crappy signal to noise ratio..and the fact that your amp might melt !!
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.
