Hey guys I bought my 1st electric guitar about 6 months ago a Squir Bullet and I took lessons for about 2 months and then the teacher quit so I'm learning the main chords and its fairly easy learning them but not switching between. Im gonna start taking lessons again saturday and I currently have a Fender Frontman amp but I have money but I dont know what to spend it ion I was planning to buy an iPod but I decided i want to invest that money on my Guitar but I have no Idea on what to spend it on what would you do in my case. Right now I was thinkning on buying that new Amp from fender the G-dec or a new guitar with the two seymour duncan pick-ups like the fender Tom delonge stratocaster.

I would look into acoustics. You may not want to play acoustic, but it's still a good practice tool. Sometimes I like to run through my scales on my acoustic and do some of my exercises with it because it strengthens your hands. The string tension and gauge of acoustic strings are greater than that of an electric. This makes your fingers work harder to do what you normally do on the electric. Also, with your chord progression help... pick out a couple chords and just practice and practice switching between them. Rotate in another chord everynow and again and you'll be flying through chords.

alll right. you sound like you like strat type guitars....

basically, im not gunna lie i hate squires. if u wanna keep a strat feel get a fender. def. or a tele. eather/or. squires... ther pickups start shorting out in only a couple months they arnt very good.

anyways... about the amp... what frontman do you have? cuz the low end ones arnt great.

but yeah i agree with aschleman. you need a acoustic. theyr really fun to play and you gotta work a little harder. good tool.

do you play power chords? cuz with those you can play just about anything.
when i started what i did was master powerchords then go and master normal chords.
