I think you should try taking your Jackson in for a set-up, unless it is the shape of the neck that you dislike, a setup could make your Jackson play as nicely as your Les paul.
Another thing is that the Les Paul would have a set neck...maybe that is what you like so much about it?
You seem to be looking for eveything I hate in a guitar(i am a stop tail,22fret man) so I cant really give you much advice...I would look into some of the nicer ESP LTD range or even some other Jacksons...
