If you like the overall feel and looks of the Epi LP but want one with a more "metal" attitude... check out the Eclipse by ESP/LTD. They have the LP body style with SD or EMG pickups... and you can get it with a Floyd. They might even have 24 frets. The body is mohogany and it's get the set neck so you get the sustain of an LP. If you like the double cutaway shape or looking for something a little different... check out the S series by Ibanez. They have hot pickups, the fastest necks on earth (Wizard II), 24 frets, of course a Floyd Rose, and the body shapes are thin and made of mohogany. Those are my suggestions for you... take it or leave it. haha.
