Unwanted Amp distortion

I have a tiny Peavey Blazer 158. Sometimes when I play through it on the clean channel, it gives me a nice clean tone, but it will more often give me a slightly distorted tone. All of my cables are securely in the jacks. I have yet to discover the source of the distortion. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this.

Turn the volume of your guitar down a bit and it will clean right up !
