You're in a playful mood lately.

Yup, "Rock Discipline with John Petrucci." John shows you how to maintain a positive relationship with your pet rock without letting it run wild.

I learn the guitar part, to a point where I don't have to think about it. Then I start singing over it.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. First of all lead at Church?!?!? And second oif all needing more speed to play a lead at church?!?!?!??!?!?! I have got to get to this Church.

Rck Discipline rules but speed lead for electric guitar by troy stetins is better

OH and increments of eight with a mtronome is waaaayyy to much- more like two, if its practice for technical ability
Alas for I am Jay! Reviver of very, very old threads!

I play rhythm guitar at church myself with my Peavey Horizon II and Boss GT-8. I've been wanting to start playing lead on a lot of the songs. I bought a guitar scales program, but man, learning scales is a boring thing! :o

Singing and playing at the same time just comes down to memorizing how to play it so you can be free to sing it. I used to play bass guitar in church years ago, and it's kinda difficult to sing and play bass at the same time (it was difficult for me anyways). I just memorized playing the song so I didn't have to think about it.

If anyone has any helpful suggestions for learning lead the 'quick and easy' way, I'm all ears for it! :D
Everything is OK in the end.
If it's not OK, then it's not the end.
