Just wondering if anyone has had a problem putting new strings on a Bigsby
tremolo. I have a Gretsch with the Bigsby tremolo and roller bridge. I followed what I believe are the right instructions on changing strings: one at a time starting from thin to thick. All was well until I got to the A and E strings. I removed the A string and the tremelo arm swung up and the spring
came out, the previous strings were not loose so I am not sure why this happened or how to get the arm back down in it's original position. At this point even with all strings in place the arm still stay up. Is there something I am missing? Yes, I am new at this but it seemed straight forward. Thanks for any help you can give.
